Dehydration Symptoms


The problem of dehydration occurs in a body when free water loss exceeds free water intake, usually due to exercise or disease, but also due to high environmental temperature. Water is out from body in the form of excreted sweat, urine, vapor in breath we exhale and stool. Small amount of salt is also lost along with the water. Our body becomes unbalanced or dehydrated when we loss too much water from our body.

  • Dry, sticky mouth
  • Headache
  • Constipation
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Sleepiness or tiredness — children are likely to be less active than usual
  • Thirst
  • Decreased urine output
  • No wet diapers for three hours for infants
  • Few or no tears when crying
  • Dry skin
  • Sunken eyes
